Rest assured, we are CPSIA Compliant. All our products have been tested, and our products are in lead safe limits and thoroughly meet all CPSIA standards.
Tutu Girl believes in protecting our children! Our tutu fabric is lead safe nylon apparel tulle (not craft tulle) and is manufactured in the USA, which is VERY IMPORTANT and seperates us from others. Because our tulle has to pass very stringent quality tests, the federal government recognizes nylon as being inherently flame retardant as well. Most companies like to use polyester tulle because it's cheaper but polyester tulle is not safe. Polyester tulle is sometimes treated to make it flame retardant, but the chemical used may be a carcinogen, which can lead to cancer.
In regard to our ribbon, fabrics (including tops and baby bloomers), clips, notions (thread, glue, etc.), Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Test Certifications, and/or Test Analysis reports show that all our these products are either well below 20 ppm or do not contain Lead or di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), or benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP).We we no longer use Swarovski crystals to be compliant with the CPSIA, instead Tutu Girl uses compliant crystals that are lead-safe. With all small items, we don't recommend children under 5 to be left unattended wearing any of our products.
