We get many inquiries from customers asking about which tutu or tutu dress would be good with cowboy boots. A good rule of thumb is to make sure the bottom of the skirt is about knee length at the very longest so it graces the top of her cowboy boots. You definitely don't want to cover them up! She can wear pretty much any color tulle with the boots, but sometimes simple and understated is best.
For weddings, many brides wanting formal western wear choose for her flower girl to wear cowboy boots and a tutu or dress. Something about the juxtaposition between western and ballerinas is really chic and quite modern.
For her top, you'll want keep it more on the casual side. A denim top, tied in a knot at the waist, is a cute look. She could even wear a leotard underneath to keep it really simple especially if she already owns the piece. Want to go all out country and western? Throw on a cowboy hat and instead of a traditional flower girl basket and use a mini pail for a nice rustic look. There are no hard rules to pull this look off. Ultimately, go with the wedding colors. If they are more neutral and earthy colored, opt for brown cowboy boots and either an ivory or white tutu, or any colored solid or multi-colored skirt un-embellished or embellished with some bling or flowers. It's YOUR day and you decide how you want the entire party outfitted.
PLEASE NOTE: WE don't see these denim vests, but shop here HERE and we can make a light blue denim top to create a similar look.
Probably one of the best things about having your little western flower girl wear a tutu for a wedding is that it's an item she will definitely use again even if it's just for dress up. I know a lot of times many people think they'll re-purpose a bridesmaid dress but when in fact, they never actually do. There would be no reason for this not happen with this skirt.
Another great reason to wear a tutu with cowboy boots is for a birthday party. A really cute idea would be to pair a birthday themed pony or horse top (or one that says Lil' Cowgirl) with a tutu, cowboy hat and boots. Perhaps add a burlap bow to the tutu. We don't offer these types of bows, but it's a total DIY mini-project that's easy to do.
A cowgirl costume is another reason to sport this cute skirt/boot combo. Don't forget to tie a cute little bandanna around her neck and have her carry a little lasso for a cute effect.
For all the girls who live in the West or Southwestern United States, she may wear a cowboy hat and boots year round. Most girls will wear this look with jeans or shorts, but your little princess can stand out in a girly tulle skirt with boots.
